This Terrace at 101 Constitution Avenue wedding was on a beautiful and very lucky day in September! I always enjoy photographing DC rooftop weddings, but the Terrace at 101 Constitution is a particular favorite of mine! The rooftop, catered and managed by Charlie Palmer Steak, overlooks the Capitol dome which was recently under constitution. Fortunately the scaffolding was off the dome by the time this couple said their vows! This ensured that our wedding venue had a fantastic view of the Capitol dome.
101 Constitution has a great permanent tent setup which allows couples to marry there, rain or shine! Most of my client who have a 101 Constitution wedding choose to say their vows at the front of the tent, and seat their guests underneath to provide shade. After the ceremony, guests move to an open air cocktail hour space while the fantastic staff at Charlie Palmer Steak moves quickly to turn the ceremony space into a beautiful wedding reception overlooking the Capitol!
After the ceremony for this couple, we took some time for portraits nearby. There are some great green spaces, and although the Capitol itself requires a permit (with a pretty lengthy application process), there are lots of great places to take some beautiful DC wedding photographs that showcase the gorgeous view of Capitol Hill.
