This lovely Willard Intercontinental Hotel wedding took place on a clear, sunny winter day in Washington, DC! The couple was excited about the (relatively) mild temperatures because it gave us an opportunity to get some outdoor wedding photographs in Downtown Washington, DC.
The bride and groom both chose to get ready at the Willard, which isn't surprising given that the rooms are absolutely gorgeous! Not only are there great views of the Washington Monument, but the decor in each room is beautiful.
Once the bride and groom were both ready, they opted for a first look to take place near the Willard in a park. The bride waited out in front of the hotel, anxiously anticipating the groom's arrival!
Once he arrived, they had a lovely, sweet moment together with the Willard in the background. After a few moments, we took some wedding portraits at the Willard, and around the grounds outside.
We headed back inside to prepare for the ceremony, which was set up beautifully with lighting and drapery on the first floor. Guests arrived and were seated as we waited for the Willard Intercontinental Hotel ceremony to begin!
The bride made a dramatic entrance with her dad, and then the couple exchanged vows. They opted to have a friend perform their ceremony, which made it particularly intimate.
After the ceremony we took time for some family photographs in the ballroom. Then we went downstairs to check out the beautiful ballroom while the bride and groom went to enjoy their cocktail hour.
The ballroom was decorated in a beautiful, winter wonderland style. The white orchids and the lighting created just the right amount of drama, with gold accents that included holiday ornaments and glittery tablecloths. The sparkling aesthetic was perfect for their DC black tie wedding!
