USNA chapel weddings

The Naval Academy chapel is an exclusive, one of a kind place for a wedding ceremony. Either the bride or groom must be alumni, military staff, faculty, or military personnel who regularly attend services at the chapel. Located on the campus of the USNA in downtown Annapolis, the chapel was opened in 1908. The building is beautiful and enormous, and was featured on a US Postal Service postage stamp in 1995. Recently renovated, the chapel seats 2500. Rest assured that your guests will have plenty of room to stretch out! Please check out some of our recent weddings at the Academy for many photos of the interior and exterior, as well as the Superintendent’s Garden and other parts of the scenic campus.

Navy Weddings in Annapolis

There are so many things to love about the USNA chapel — so we’ll just list our top three.

  • The aisle! If you are dreaming of taking a walk down a very long aisle on your wedding day, this is the place to do it. I’ve never actually measured the aisle but it takes at least a full minute to make it from the back of the door to the altar. It’s also fabulous for walking back as newlyweds and heading out to your sword exit on the chapel steps!
  • Architectural beauty — the USNA chapel is one of the major reasons the Naval Academy was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961.
  • The stained-glass! The stained glass inside the Naval Academy chapel is absolutely stunning. If you have the opportunity, take some time to explore the chapel and look at the glass closely.
