Faith and James had a beautiful and fun wedding at the elegant Fairmont Hotel in downtown DC. The evening was filled with emotion, excitement, and surprises – not the least of which was the presence of the Orioles mascot who, unbeknownst to the bride and groom, had been brought to the reception by the bride’s parents! Faith sang a lovely song in lieu of a father daughter dance and everyone enjoyed the gorgeous ballroom with flowers by Alison de Wit. Lindsay and her staff did a fabulous job with the entire event!

What a fabulous wedding day! First, I got to work with Rachel and Matt – I have been lucky enough to photograph several of Rachel’s friends’ weddings so it was great to see past clients again! I also had an amazing vendor team to work with – I can not recommend these friends and colleagues highly enough! In spite of the cold day, we enjoyed the beautiful view and Rachel and Matt even braved the extreme temperatures for some outdoor portraits and video!

We were so pleased to have the opportunity to photograph this charming wedding on New Year’s Day! Janet and Bill invited just their close friends and family for a sunset ceremony at St. Peter’s Chapel in Solomons, Maryland. The chapel is just beautiful and I love the images we took from outside. Afterwards we headed to Saphron Restaurant where Janet and Bill and their guests were treated to fantastic southern fare at this fun, family owned restaurant. Enjoy the images!

Caitlin and David had a beautiful winter day for their post-Christmas wedding! We were thrilled to have some fairly warm weather and lots of sunshine for their day. After a ceremony to honor their faith and their devotion to one another we headed to their beautifully appointed cocktail hour and reception at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. The sunset was fabulous and Caitlin and David got to watch it while I created some gorgeous images of the two of them. It was a wonderful day, even if there was a brief moment of “When Veils Attack!” Enjoy the images!

Nell and Joe had a beautifully intimate candlelit ceremony and reception at the ever charming Tabard Inn near Dupont Circle. It was a bit of a chilly evening, which was perfect for being inside by the fireplace and enjoying a gourmet dinner with close friends and family. Check out the images!

Liz and Jason were married the weekend after Thanksgiving. The day was cold, but sunny and as you can imagine there was a lot of cuddling to stay warm during the outdoor portraits! Their ceremony in Arlington at St. Charles Borromeo included some Filipino traditions. We had an opportunity to stop at Iwo Jima for photos nearby and then we headed to the chic Hotel Monaco in Old Town Alexandria for Liz and Jason’s reception! The room was set up beautifully with tables being named after favorite romantic movies. Toasts, dinner and dancing followed as well as photo booth hijinks! Enjoy the images.

Snowstorm, again!

I (Jen) am originally from New England and I have to say – this is the most snow I’ve seen in the decade I’ve lived in the DC metro area! We ventured out this morning to downtown Annapolis and took a few fun images in the snow. I have to say as much as we enjoyed Katie and Kaipo’s snowy wedding last month, it’s nice to enjoy the snow with no responsibilities! Right after leaving our community we saw that this state plow truck had managed to get stuck in a snowbank. This did not bode well for our excursion and made us both a little nervous. We successfully made it downtown where we ran into snowblowers, people carrying shovels trying to get to work, and a guy walking his very cute greyhound (wearing a custom greyhound snow jacket). I hope you enjoy seeing these images from the Snowpocalypse!

Katie & Kaipo wedding USNA

Katie’s friends and family didn’t want to give her any more reasons to be nervous about the big day, so they somehow found a way to keep the news of the storm from the bride until only hours remained. But after getting ready at the Loews Hotel, Katie was greeted with over a foot of snow – with more falling every minute! Over a sparkling white blanket that enveloped the city, the wedding party trooped to the Naval Academy in boots.
