Hilary and Tyler chose beautiful Kirkland Manor in St. Michaels, Maryland as the venue for their fabulous waterfront wedding. Hilary’s dad is quite the creative and he and Hilary’s mom spent hours and hours putting together so many beautiful details for his little girl’s big day. The love that this family shares was absolutely clear to me as I spent the day with them, photographing the event.

Kirkland Manor Waterfront Ceremony

Hilary and Tyler exchanged vows in a touching ceremony under a custom made anchor motif arch overlooking the water. As they had their first kiss as husband and wife and walked back up the aisle, their guests waved flags in celebration – such a unique touch! Guests then headed to their cocktail hour at the boathouse and dock while we had an opportunity to take family portraits and then some images of Hilary and Tyler alone on the gorgeous grounds. It was so nice to observe and photograph their first moments as husband and wife. In the meantime, guests got busy with photobooth hijinks!

Reception in St. Michaels

After we finished portraits in the beautiful afternoon light, Hilary and Tyler had a chance to mingle before guests headed into the tent for dinner. The lit sailboat centerpieces were also custom designed by Hilary’s dad and they were perfect for this St. Michaels soiree. The food was provided by Linwood and they did a fabulous job and event let me in the stressful plating area to capture some images of each lovely course.

The wedding day also happened to coincide with something very special – Hilary’s birthday! After giving us a bit of background about birthday cakes from Hilary’s past, her parents brought out a surprise cake – do you recognize the local landmark? Check out the images below!

Chesapeake Bay Beach Club weddings are so much fun to photograph! We are lucky to photograph events there several times each year  and as you can imagine the venue is in huge demand due to its fantastic views of the Chesapeake Bay, especially at sunset.

Meghan and Rob were away at school during the entire time they were planning their event. Meghan still managed to create a charming DIY wedding! She redid some vintage suitcases with a custom fabric and incorporated them into the decor with the help of Sarah Campbell with Intrigue Design, who worked on the design concept for the event! The ceremony had a gorgeous rose petal pattern as the aisle decor and the bride’s brother performed a song for the couple and their guests.

Chesapeake Bay Beach Club

Meghan and Rob had their reception in the Beach House ballroom which was lit and decorated beautifully. Inside the bride and groom prepared a table with wedding photographs from several generations with the quote “Love runs in the family”. They set out a vintage typewriter for their guests to leave messages and words of wisdom. Vintage postcards were placed around the room in strategic locations. Evan with MyDeejay, one of the top DJs in the DC area, kept everyone on the dance floor!

Allison and Jon had a beautiful wedding at St. Mary’s church in downtown Annapolis and the Gibson Island club. Allison’s mom was her matron of honor, which I thought was such a lovely tribute to their close relationship. It was a beautiful fall day and the awesome Bentley that Allison and Jon rented made for a great ride!
