Danielle and Andrew were something of an enigma since I never had an opportunity to meet with them in person before the wedding day. Once at the wedding, I found out that they met while both in college at Swarthmore and they paid tribute to that shared experience in lots of little ways, including bringing their college rabbi into town to marry them! They exchanged vows overlooking the water at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. Their family and friends shared in the experience in a unique way by reading parts of the ceremony.

Sunset Room Reception

Danielle and Andrew chose the Sunset Room with its beautiful view for their reception. After a lovely dinner they enjoyed toasts and dancing including an unexpected hora. As I told Andrew, you can’t fight the hora LOL so just hold on and hope for the best! It was a great day.

Ali and Chris chose to have all their wedding festivities on Kent Island! They started the day with a beautiful ceremony at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Chester, MD. The ceremony was lovely and the priest was so courteous about photography! We really enjoyed photographing their ceremony and look forward to another couple marrying at St. Christopher’s later this fall!

Chesapeake Bay Beach Club

After the ceremony, we made our way to the Beach Club for Ali and Chris’ waterfront reception! The limo driver may not be my biggest fan as I kept seeing great light and asking him to pull over so that we could get some gorgeous portraits of the happy couple! In spite of the heat, we had a great time and captured some great images!

Sunset Ballroom Reception

Once we arrived at the Beach Club, the festivities began with their reception in the Sunset Room! The golden light was streaming into the room during their first dance and toasts, and then we headed outside to the beach for some sunset photographs. Once the sun went down and everyone had eaten the dance party began!

Chesapeake Bay Beach Club weddings are so much fun to photograph! We are lucky to photograph events there several times each year  and as you can imagine the venue is in huge demand due to its fantastic views of the Chesapeake Bay, especially at sunset.

Meghan and Rob were away at school during the entire time they were planning their event. Meghan still managed to create a charming DIY wedding! She redid some vintage suitcases with a custom fabric and incorporated them into the decor with the help of Sarah Campbell with Intrigue Design, who worked on the design concept for the event! The ceremony had a gorgeous rose petal pattern as the aisle decor and the bride’s brother performed a song for the couple and their guests.

Chesapeake Bay Beach Club

Meghan and Rob had their reception in the Beach House ballroom which was lit and decorated beautifully. Inside the bride and groom prepared a table with wedding photographs from several generations with the quote “Love runs in the family”. They set out a vintage typewriter for their guests to leave messages and words of wisdom. Vintage postcards were placed around the room in strategic locations. Evan with MyDeejay, one of the top DJs in the DC area, kept everyone on the dance floor!

We first met Janice and Jason last year at our DC office to talk about their plans for a Kent Island wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. Janice had done a lot of research and we were extremely flattered to be hired to document their day!

The Beach House and the Tavern Bayside

Janice and Jason had a bit of a rough week leading up to their wedding – it involved flying back and forth from Hong Kong on short notice, but fortunately everyone was where they needed to be when Saturday morning arrived! We began photographing the bride and groom preparations in Annapolis before heading to the Beach Club for the final touches prior to the ceremony.

The waterfront ceremony was held on the lawn in front of the Beach House Ballroom. Guests looked out onto the Chesapeake Bay view as Janice and Jason exchanged vows and honored their parents with a song.

Paebaek

During the cocktail hour, Janice and Jason had a traditional Korean ceremony called the Paebaek for their close family members. They wore traditional Korean attire and their parents and other family enjoyed tossing chestnuts and dates into Janice’s apron which is said to indicate the number and gender of their future children!

Afterwards, Janice and Jason and their guests headed into the Beach House Ballroom for their dinner, some affectionate toasts, and of course, dancing.

Amanda and Chris were married in a ceremony overlooking the Chesapeake Bay! Their guests were able to look right out to the water and the Bay Bridge as Amanda and Chris exchanged vows and rings. Then we headed down onto the beach and into the sawgrass for some portraits of the happy couple!

Tavern Room Reception

Amanda and Chris hired Great Expectations – Flowers by Inka to create lovely centerpieces for their tables. The Tavern room is very pretty, with lots of windows to enjoy the view and let the sunshine in!  Their guests enjoyed the great food and service presented by the Beach Club staff before the dancing began.

Caitlin and David had a beautiful winter day for their post-Christmas wedding! We were thrilled to have some fairly warm weather and lots of sunshine for their day. After a ceremony to honor their faith and their devotion to one another we headed to their beautifully appointed cocktail hour and reception at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. The sunset was fabulous and Caitlin and David got to watch it while I created some gorgeous images of the two of them. It was a wonderful day, even if there was a brief moment of “When Veils Attack!” Enjoy the images!

Nicole and Brian were married on 10/10/10 which obviously makes life very easy for Brian in terms of remembering their anniversary every year! It was tough to beat the fun time we had during their engagement session, but somehow we managed They had a beautiful day with a spectacular sunset. Enjoy the images!

Jennifer and John were married at the United States Naval Academy in the midst of a huge parade on a hazy, hot summer day. It was cool and lovely inside the chapel and we managed to have a fabulous time with portraits around the Academy despite the heat. Susan and Jon were married on a beautiful, sunny day! They made their preparations at Jon’s parents’ home before heading to the church for their catholic ceremony. After the ceremony Susan and Jon and their guests enjoyed a breezy cocktail hour and reception in the Tavern Room at the gorgeous Chesapeake Bay Beach Club.
