Kristen and Mike chose the beautiful, modern Pavilion Room at the Reagan Building to host their event – no surprise since Kristen is an architect! The Pavilion room has great style and soaring ceilings – the perfect setting for their beautiful ceremony and reception. 

We made time to do most of their portraits prior to the ceremony, although we did go back out later in the evening! Kristen got ready at the JW Marriott, very close by.

Petals Edge transformed the space – first for the ceremony and then the reception – with beautiful flowers in shades of yellow, red, and orange. Tabitha Roberts from Roberts Events Company coordinated the entire day, and Jen Karr was on hand to ensure that the Reagan Building staff did their jobs seamlessly as always!

After the cocktail hour, guests headed into the beautiful pavilion room for dinner and dancing. With a lot of help from Tabitha we managed to get some great photographs of the room before the party started. It was a very fun evening and we were very lucky with the weather! The rain all fell while we were inside enjoying the event, and it was over when we headed outside for a few last portraits of Kristen and Mike.

Jenifer and Tom were married on a rainy day in March at St. Alban's Little Sanctuary. The weather was less than perfect but the warmth of friends and family was not dampened in the least! The Little Sanctuary was lovely and has a beautiful view of the National Cathedral in spite of the fog!

Meridian House Wedding Reception

After the ceremony, we headed to one of our favorite venues – Meridian House! We always enjoy the beauty of its stately architecture and of coure the linden grove. Occasions provided the photo worthy food and Petal's Edge was responsible for the lovely flowers! Megan from Event Accomplished made sure that the entire day ran smoothly. Check out the images!

DC Engagement Session

Jillian and David are a fabulous couple and we had a great time working with them to photograph their engagement session! Their wedding is scheduled for later this year at St. Matthew's Cathedral and the St. Regis – two of DC's most beautiful locations. We had great light and nice weather for the shoot (in spite of some doom and gloom weather forecasts) and it was fun getting to know them better during the time we spent together. Enjoy the images!

Christel and David were so much fun to work with! We were excited to hear all about their plans for a spring wedding with French touches to honor Christel’s heritage. They chose the Mormon Temple in Kensington for their ceremony and the elegant Hotel Monaco DC for their reception.

Photography is not permitted inside the temple, so we awaited Christel and David’s grand exit as husband and wife, alongside family and friends. The outside of the temple is beautiful, so we took advantage of the nearby grounds for portraits before heading to Lafayette Park for more images – this time with some beautiful blooming trees!

Later in the day, Christel and David gathered with friends and family for a ring ceremony. Rings are not traditionally exchanged during a Mormon wedding ceremony, so the happy couple took the opportunity to share that moment before kicking off their fun reception.

As always, the ballroom at the Hotel Monaco was a fantastic setting for dinner and dancing. A Croquembouche added a special continental touch to the event! We worked with some wonderful wedding professionals who helped make the day perfect for all.

You may remember seeing Stephanie and Ron’s beautiful wedding at the Park Hyatt DC last spring. After a few months of waiting we have been informed that their beautiful wedding was chosen for a feature by Bethesda Magazine!

We had a great time working with Emily and Ben for their fun, dog friendly engagement session! We started off near the National Cathedral for some images of the three of them, and then once Ben took his best buddy home we went to DuPont Circle for more photographs of the happy couple including shots at their favorite restaurant! We are very much looking forward to their Hotel Monaco DC wedding this summer!

Anna and Will chose beautiful Union Station for their memorable winter wedding. We were fairly lucky with the weather – as we’ve been all winter! Their December wedding day was not too blustery and even though the festivities didn’t begin until after the sun went down, we still managed to spend a little time outside for photos near the Capitol building.

Anna and Will’s ceremony was intimate and candlelit. The lovely thing about an evening ceremony is the warm ambiance. Anna and Will’s friend sang beautifully for the couple and I was in awe of her gorgeous opera voice! It was amazing.

After the ceremony, we took some time for photographs before the reception began in the Columbus Club, once the fabulous Design Cuisine staff had re-organized the room. MyDeejay was on hand to play fabulous music as always. Anna and Will were sent off with a fabulous sparkler exit. Images below!

Jean and Ben chose to marry on a beautiful fall day in November at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Fairfax at Embassy Row. We started the day at the Fairfax Hotel in Dupont Circle with Ben and the guys as they were getting ready. After spending some time watching the bow tie tying extravaganza, we went upstairs to Jean's suite where she and the girls were making their preparations.

When the girls were ready we headed out into the beautiful sunny day to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for Jean and Ben's ceremony. The church is beautiful – it was our first time working there and the stained glass and altar are dramatic and gorgeous. During the ceremony, Jean and Ben shared so many sweet glances and moments together – it really was a pleasure to document.

After the ceremony and some family portraits, we took photographs of the bridal party and Jean and Ben at the Capitol and then at Meridian Hill Park before heading back to their reception at the Fairfax at Embassy Row.

The ballroom at the Fairfax is so pretty and Jean and Ben chose lovely decor to enhance its classic charm. The evening started with their grand entrance and first dance, followed by toasts and dinner. Mydeejay ensured that the guests stayed out on the dance floor, and the groom's father sang a song that was one of the highlights of the evening.

Cassi and Tyler were married at the Naval Academy Stadium – although we’ve photographed receptions at the N* Room in the past, this was our first ceremony to take place there! In spite of being moved indoors due to rain, the ceremony was lovely and heartfelt. Cassi wore a gorgeous dress from the Vera Wang White Collection – I loved it!

We took some portraits inside, and then in spite of the chill and the rain, Cassi and Tyler braved the outdoors with us to get some photographs in the stadium. It was well worth it! Then we headed inside to enjoy dinner, toasts and dancing. Cassi and Tyler had a fabulous time with friends and family and then exited (RUNNING!) while their guests held sparklers and cheered them on!

Keri and Alex chose Glen Echo Park in Montgomery County, MD for its unique vintage vibe. They originally met because they are both from Texas. As a couple they seem to perfectly complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses and the joy and love they share was very much in evidence on their chilly but lovely fall wedding day.

Bumper Car Pavilion Wedding

The Bumper Car Pavilion was the perfect location for their celebration. Keri spent months on DIY projects to create the perfect look and feel for her wedding day. From the vintage jars and cans of flowers, the handmade bouquets, the hanging pages, the decorative books, and the one-of-a-kind cake topper, this wedding was all about the details! After a beautiful ceremony (inside to keep everyone warm!) they enjoyed dinner and toasts before MyDeejay kicked off the dancing.
